How to add page numbers

  1. Choose your PDF. It opens in the editor with the page numbering options ready.
  2. Put {page} (or Page {page} of {pages}) in the header or footer box where you want it: left, centre or right.
  3. Choose which pages to number, the first number, the text size and the margin, then select Apply.
  4. Save your numbered PDF.

Headers, footers and Bates numbers

Any header or footer box can hold text and {page}, {pages}, {date} and {file}, filled in for each page. For legal documents, Bates numbering stamps a prefix and a running number on every page (ABC000001, ABC000002…). Numbers sit the right way up even on rotated pages.

Private by design

StaplePDF numbers the pages inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded.
